The Historic City Market in Kansas City is a lively, open-air marketplace dating back to the 1850s, known for its large weekend farmers market, international food stalls, specialty grocery shops, fresh produce, spices, and a casual, multicultural atmosphere surrounded by small eateries and local vendors.
From the market, a short walk leads to the nearby riverside.
The Missouri River runs along the north edge of downtown near the Historic City Market.
Then I took a short streetcar ride to the center of Kansas City, Missouri.
The following day, I drove to Country Club Plaza.
Country Club Plaza is an outdoor shopping and dining district in Kansas City, famous for its Spanish-inspired architecture, tiled fountains, sculptures, and pedestrian-friendly streets, offering a relaxed atmosphere for strolling, eating, and browsing unique boutiques.
