Jefferson personally designed the campus, centered around the Rotunda and Academical Village, reflecting classical architecture and Enlightenment ideals.

It was one of the first universities in the United States to offer elective courses and to separate church from education. Today, UVA is a UNESCO World Heritage Site—along with Monticello—recognized for its architectural harmony and lasting influence on American education.

The view of the garden from the Rotunda building

I walked to the garden and looked back at the Rotunda building from there.

Walked to the far side of the garden, away from the Rotunda building, by using the walkway in front of the side buildings.

I turned around and looked back at the Rotunda building; from here, I could see the dome clearly.

I walked closer to the Rotunda building to get a better view for a picture.

Then came back to the building at the other end of the garden.
