Coonoor Hill Tea Plantation, Ooty Botanical Garden, and Muduralai National Park, Tamil Nadu, India

Coonoor is a scenic hill town in the Nilgiri Hills, while nearby Ooty is home to the beautiful Government Botanical Garden, and Mudumalai National Park is known for its forests and wildlife. 1232

After traveling for many hours by bus, we arrived at this beautiful resort hotel.

The next day, after a breakfast, we headed to the train station for a visit to a tea plantation.

The hills around Coonoor are covered with beautiful tea plantations, part of the Nilgiris’ long tradition of tea growing.

After visiting the tea plantation, we toured a nearby tea factory to see how the tea is processed and produced.

Tea cultivation in the Nilgiri Hills began during the British colonial period in the 19th century, and the cool mountain climate helped make the region one of India’s important tea-growing areas.

The tea-making process begins with withering the freshly picked leaves, followed by rolling, oxidation, drying, and sorting to produce the finished tea.

We returned to the train station before heading to our next destination.

We stopped at a hilltop viewpoint to see the surrounding mountain ranges, but I don’t remember the name of the place.

We arrived at the Government Botanical Garden in Ooty, one of the area’s most popular attractions.

The Government Botanical Garden in Ooty was established in 1848 and covers about 55 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds, with terraced lawns, colorful flowers, and a wide variety of plants and trees.

After visiting the garden, we returned to our hotel.

The next day, we visited the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve.

Mudumalai Tiger Reserve is a large protected area in the Nilgiri Hills, known for its forests and wildlife, including tigers, elephants, leopards, gaur, and deer.

We diligently looked for tigers throughout the reserve, but unfortunately, we didn’t see any.
