On the way to the Kerala Backwaters.

This was the last place we visited on our tour before returning to Fort Kochi, where our journey began. The area is part of the Kerala Backwaters, a peaceful network of waterways surrounded by lush tropical scenery.

The Kerala Backwaters are an extensive network of lakes, rivers, lagoons, and canals running through the lush tropical landscape of Kerala.

Traditionally used for transportation, fishing, and farming, the waterways pass through small villages, coconut groves, and rice fields.

Today, they are especially popular for boat cruises and traditional houseboat trips that offer a peaceful way to experience Kerala’s rural scenery and everyday life.

In the afternoon, we toured the area with a local guide.
