Yongpyong Resort, Pyeongchang, South Korea

Yongpyong Resort is where the 2018 Winter Olympics was held.  It is now a ski resort.

Yongpyong Resort: 715, Olympic-ro, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, South Korea

I took a short 15 minutes bus ride from Hoenggye, where I am staying.  It drops me next to this building, and in front of this building is the ski area.

This is the view at the front of the building.  It is a short distance from the parking area to the ski area.

Walking to the left side of the building and nothing is there, so turn back …

to the other side and walk toward the brown roofed house straight forward.

On the second floor of this house, I can take a cable car to the highest point in this ski area.

A non-skier can take the gondola, and it costs about $20.

On the top, the mountain is called Balwangsan.

For the skiers, it is all downhills from here.

View of the mountains from the observation deck.  Panoramic view from left to right

There is another higher (fives stories) observation deck on top of the cable car station.

Looking at the ski downhill.

View of the opposite side.  Another cable car station and is not operating at this time.

Walking the trail that starts from the cable car station.  Looking back at the cable car station.

No more wooden decks

It was too slippery to hike on a snowed trail without proper shoes, so I turned back …

to the station and

came down from the mountain

One last look
