The neighborhood is centered around Calle Ocho (Southwest Eighth Street), a vibrant thoroughfare lined with Latin-inspired restaurants, bakeries, fruit stands, cigar shops, rum bars, art galleries and music venues.

The classic, family-owned Versailles is one of Little Havana’s top Cuban restaurants. Many people were waiting for their turn.
I didn’t know much about Cuban dishes, so I ordered a Cuban sampler.
Little Havana is in one segment of Southwest Eights Street that covers a few blocks. The heart of the place is where Domino Park is located.
This is where locals gather to talk politics over heated games of dominoes.
There were many bars with live music.
