St. Mark’s Square: C8MQ+QJ Venice, Metropolitan City of Venice

Venice is situated in the Venetian Lagoon, an enclosed bay of the Adriatic Sea. It is composed of 118 small islands that are interconnected by canals and linked by more than 400 bridges.  The city is built on marshy islands within the lagoon, making it a one-of-a-kind urban area.

I stayed in Mestre, about a 20-minute bus ride to Venice.

The picture below shows the bus station in Venice.  All buses from the city stop here.

My destination was St. Mark’s Square, and I planned to use a vaporetto (water bus) on the way.

This is a bus boat station.  Each station stops designated boat buses.

The train station in Venice.  The train comes here by the bridge.

I took a short boat bus ride near the train station to Rialto Bridge.
