Heading to the Mission District from my San Francisco stay.

A street in the Mission District

Mission Dolores, a beautiful adobe church dating back to 1776, is the oldest intact building in San Francisco and the namesake of the district.

The Mission is known for its strong Latino community, established for generations. You’ll find authentic taquerias, vibrant murals, and bustling plazas like 16th Street BART, a cultural hub.

Vibrant murals adorn buildings throughout the neighborhood, especially in Clarion Alley.

Today, the neighborhood also attracts artists, young professionals, and trendy businesses. It’s a melting pot of cultures and styles, with trendy boutiques and hipster cafes rubbing shoulders with traditional shops and bodegas.

Walking back to 24th Street and Mission Street

I took the subway train from the Mission District to the Union Square.

Union Square is synonymous with luxury shopping. Flagship stores like Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Neiman Marcus line the streets, offering a dazzling array of designer brands and fashion finds.
