I drove to UC Santa Cruz from San Francisco for a day trip. I went along Highway 1, which closely follows the ocean.
My first stop was the city of Half Moon Bay. This is the ocean side of the town.

Further down the Highway 1 is Pomponio State Beach.
I also stopped at Bean Hollow State Beach
Further down the Highway 1 is Pigeon Point Light Station State Historic Park

Campus bus stop. The campus is large, and buildings are sparsely located, so the bus is needed to go from one location to another.
Cowell College. UC Santa Cruz is unique in its residential college system, comprising 10 distinct colleges, each with its own vibe and personality. From the artsy Porter College to the laid-back Cowell College, you’ll find your own little community within the larger campus.
Each college has its own dining hall, social events, and traditions, fostering a close-knit atmosphere where you’ll quickly make friends.
Upper East Field – This athletic field overlooks the Monterey Bay. This field is the most beautiful athletic field that I have seen.
