I took a day trip to Blois and Amboise by train from Tours because there are two Chateaux near the train stations. This blog is about the Blois Chateau; the next blog will be about the Amboise Chateau.

I arrived at the Blois train station, and the Chateau was within less than 10 to 15 minutes of walking.

The château served as a royal residence for several French kings, including Louis XII and Francis I. It was also the site of significant historical events, such as the assassination of the Duke of Guise during the French Wars of Religion.

The château showcases a mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Classical architecture, reflecting the different periods of its construction. Each wing of the castle represents a different style, making it a unique architectural landmark.

Inside, the château houses numerous works of art, including tapestries, sculptures, and furniture from different periods. The interior rooms are richly decorated, giving visitors a glimpse into the opulence of the French court.
