The Marina Bay Area is a centerpiece of Singapore’s urban transformation, symbolizing the city’s evolution into a global hub for finance, entertainment, and tourism.

I took the subway train to Raffles Place Station.  The pictures of the Raffles Place.

Marina Bay is close from here.  I started to walk to the Marina Bay.

The Marina Bay

The building in the picture below is Marina Bay Sands Hotel.

The iconic Merlion statue, a mythical creature with a lion’s head and a fish’s body, symbolizes Singapore’s origins.

Combining the head of a lion with the body of a fish, the Merlion represents Singapore’s origins as a fishing village and its original name, “Singapura,” which means “Lion City” in Malay.

I started to walk around the body of water to Marina Bay Sands Hotel.

The building in the picture below is the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Singapore.  It is a futuristic waterfront arts venue with 1,600-seat concert hall, 2,000-person theatre, studios & mall.

Helix Bridge

It is a pedestrian bridge inspired by the structure of DNA, linking Marina Centre with Marina South.

I walked on the bridge toward the hotel.

The white building that looks like a hand is the ArtScience Museum.  A lotus-shaped building that hosts exhibitions blending art, science, culture, and technology.

In front of Marina Bay Sands Hotel is the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, a luxury shopping mall featuring over 800,000 square feet of retail space. It boasts high-end brands like Chanel, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton, as well as fine dining options and a Venetian-style canal offering sampan boat rides.

Casino: One of the largest in the world, the casino spans four levels and offers a wide array of gaming options, from slot machines to table games like blackjack and roulette.

Marina Bay Sands Hotel is just across the street from the mall.

You must buy a ticket to get to the hotel’s observation deck.

The lines to get to the observation deck.  The ticket was already sold out, so I could not get to the observation deck.

Got back into the hotel

Then, I strolled to the expansive Gardens by the Bay, located behind the hotel.

Gardens by the Bay is a futuristic park in the heart of Singapore, renowned for its cutting-edge design, lush greenery, and innovative blend of nature and technology. It covers over 101 hectares of reclaimed land and is a major attraction for both locals and tourists.

The building in the picture is the Flower Dome.  It is the world’s largest glass greenhouse, featuring plants from various Mediterranean and semi-arid regions.

Supertree Grove is a collection of 18 towering tree-like structures ranging from 25 to 50 meters in height.

OCBC Skyway is a walkway connecting two Supertrees, offering panoramic views of the gardens and the city skyline.

At night, a light and sound show called Garden Rhapsody transforms the Supertrees into a mesmerizing visual experience.

I walked back to the subway station to return to my hotel.

I waited in the mall until it got dark before I walked on the Helix Bridge because I wanted to see a view of the bay at night.  When it got dark, I walked on the bridge.
