Kowloon is on the China mainland side of Hong Kong. Kowloon is famous for its lively street markets, offering everything from fashion and electronics to souvenirs and local delicacies.
Kowloon is known for its stunning views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong Island skyline. The Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade offers one of the best vantage points for taking in the skyline, especially during the nightly Symphony of Lights show, which lights up the harbor and the skyscrapers on the island.
I took a subway train from where I stayed on Hong Kong Island to Kowloon Tsim Sha Tsui. Although I could have taken a boat, the subway was more convenient.
Walking to the oceanfront in Tsim Sha Tsui, I passed the Hong Kong Museum of Art.
Another take on the scene as I walked to my right side
At the one end of the oceanfront is the Star Ferry Pier

This old-style boat goes between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.
At the midpoint of the oceanfront. The protruded area in the picture is the Avenue of Stars.
The Avenue of the Stars. I was looking for the stars on the floor like they were on Holywood Blvd in Los Angeles, and I missed them. It does not have the stars, instead, it has handprints on the guard rail near the oceanfront.
Done with the Avenue of Stars. I walked toward the city center to see other things
Then this museum, the Hong Kong Museum of Art, was located here, and though I did not plan to see it, I went in.
Inside the Hong Kong Museum of Art
The exhibition “Fragrance of Time—In Search of Chinese Art of Scent” at the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA) ran from June 28 to October 16, 2024. It is a unique journey into the historical and cultural significance of fragrance in Chinese art and life.
I left the museum and walked inland to the city center. I will have a separate blog on the Hong Kong Museum of Art.
My next destination was the Temple Street Night Market, and I took the subway to get there. This was the view of the city while I was not on the subway train.
The Temple Street Night Market. The market was smaller and quieter than I expected.
I had dinner in one of the eateries, and the day got a little darker when I finished. I took another subway train and arrived at the Mong Kok area.
