The hotel where I stayed in Manila was near SM Aura Premier Mall. I chose this area because it is known for being modern and safe.

The SM Aura Premier Mall is an upscale shopping mall offering a mix of high-end and popular retail brands with many restaurants, which was more important for me than the shops.

From the mall, I walked to the Bonifacio High Street.  It is an open-air shopping and dining promenade with international and local brands.

At the time I visited the area, there were few people around.

From Fort Bonifacio, I took an Uber to the nearby Makati area.  I started to explore the area from SM Makati Mall.

To my surprise, this area consists of many large shopping malls, one after the other.

The rear of the mall above was the entrance to the mall below.

After visiting multiple malls in the area, I came to this street at the end of one of the malls.

And there were still other malls that I had not been to.

One of the many roads led to this temple nestled among trees.

Sto. Nino de Paz Greenbelt Chapel.  It is a modern, dome-shaped Catholic church with open sides in a tree-filled park amid skyscrapers.

I kept wandered around the area

and discovered this museum called the Ayala Museum

Inside the museum.  I will have a separate post on this museum.

The Ayala Museum, located in Makati City, Metro Manila, is a premier institution dedicated to Philippine art, culture, and history. Established in 1967 by the Ayala Foundation, it has become a cornerstone for cultural education and appreciation in the Philippines.

Gold of Ancestors: Showcasing over 1,000 gold artifacts from pre-colonial times, this collection highlights the sophisticated craftsmanship and cultural heritage of early Filipino societies.

Textiles

Featuring more than 500 Chinese and Southeast Asian ceramics, this exhibit illustrates the Philippines’ extensive trade relations and cultural exchanges over a thousand years

The Ayala Museum in Makati City is renowned for its extensive collection of dioramas that vividly illustrate the rich tapestry of Philippine history. This exhibit, known as The Diorama Experience, features 60 intricately crafted dioramas depicting significant events from prehistoric times to the present day.

Out of the museum, I walked toward the Starbucks in Cristina Condominium.

Then, I came back to the SM Aura Premier Mall for dinner.
