Bus Ride on Sinan Islands Near Mokpo, South Korea

Sinan County is next to Mokpo City, and it has a thousand islands. Bridges connect four larger islands, and one local bus ride takes you to all four islands. 236

The bus that go to these islands are come once an hour, so I was not able to get off from the bus often to take the pictures.  I only got off from the bus in two locations.

The first area that I got off was where there were many shops and stores.  The picture shows the street where I got off, and it was the largest shopping area on all four islands.

But the main reason why I got off at this location was that I saw this ‘gaetbbeol,’ the massive mudflat in low tide.  I have not seen anything like this in the US.

In high tide time, this area will fill with ocean water.

The mud was soft, but I was able to walk on it.

The rest of the bus ride provided nothing unusual about the islands.  It had a similar landscape to the bus ride on the mainland.

I got off at the last bus stop and took a few pictures.
