Katara Cultural Village is one of Doha’s main centers for art, culture, and entertainment, located between West Bay and The Pearl. Designed with elements of traditional Qatari architecture, the complex contains narrow streets and courtyards along with galleries, theaters, performance spaces, restaurants, and a public beach.

Katara Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque

Doha City and Katara Cultural Village (111)

Katara Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque, is one of the most striking buildings in Katara Cultural Village. Designed by Turkish designer Zeynep Fadıllıoğlu, its exterior is richly decorated with Persian and Turkish tile and enamel work in shades of blue and gold. The design draws inspiration from the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul and from mosques throughout the Islamic world. Its colorful façade and beautifully decorated minaret make it especially distinctive among the surrounding buildings.
