H-Mart in Austin, Congress Ave Bridge Bat Watching, and Dirty 6th Street Night Scene, Austin, Texas, USA
Congress Ave Bridge for bat watching, Dirty 6th Street scene at night, and H-Mart food court in Austin
A large H-Mart is nearby where I stay, and it has an excellent Korean food court inside.
Inside the H-Mart. It is surprisingly large for the Austin area.
A building nearby the Congress Ave Bridge. Every day from mid-March to early November, at near sun setting time, a vast number of bats under the bridge fly sky to catch insects.
People are gathering along the bridge for bats to fly.
This is the Colorado river in Texas, and it is not the same Colorado river that flows in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada.
The boats under the bridge are also waiting for the bats.
There, the bats are flying.
The bats are coming out under the bridge.
A view of the other side of the bridge.
The “Dirty 6th Street” is less than half-mile from the bridge, and it was about 9:00 PM when I reached it. There were not many people on the street as I expected because it was too early for people to show up for the bars.
