King Louis XIV gallery.  The Galerie d’Apollon in the Louvre Museum, also known as the King Louis XIV Gallery, is one of the most splendid and historically significant rooms in the museum. Originally designed for Louis XIV, the Sun King, this gallery is a prime example of French Baroque architecture and decoration.

The Louvre’s archaeological collections are divided into several departments, each focusing on a specific region or period.
