Inside the structure

The area is called West End

The old court house, now a museum

In the founder’s plaza is John Neely Bryan Cabin, the replica of the original house of who found the city, Dallas.

Located in the historic Texas School Book Depository (back then) building, the museum presents the social and political landscape of the early 1960s, chronicles President Kennedy’s assassination and its aftermath, reflects upon his lasting impact on our country and world, and connects the past to the present for students, families, and visitors.

Only the sixth floor of this building is the museum, and the city uses the rest of the building. Why the sixth floor? Because from this floor is where the gunman shot the president.

At the time of the assassination, the floor was used as the storage room for the books.

Search for the assassinator

All the evidence shows that Lee Harvey Oswald did the assasination alone.

Many Americans believe that Harvey Oswald had conspirators, but no evidence was found.
