On the way to Asheville from Cherokee, I stopped at the Pisgah National Forest.
The most popular area here is the Sliding Rock
Sliding Rock is a natural 60-foot sloping waterfall in Pisgah National Forest where visitors can slide down the smooth rock face into a cool plunge pool at the bottom. In summer, lifeguards are on duty and the spot becomes a popular, family-friendly swimming and sliding attraction.
A short drive from Sliding Rock is the Looking Glass Falls.
Looking Glass Falls is one of the most easily accessible and photographed waterfalls in Pisgah National Forest. It drops about 60 feet over a wide rock ledge, creating a picturesque, curtain-like flow. Located right beside the road, it requires no hiking, making it a popular stop for visitors.
After Pisgah National Forest, I arrived at Asheville, North Carolina.
Asheville Downton
Asheville is a lively mountain city in western North Carolina known for its artsy atmosphere, historic architecture, and thriving food and craft beer scenes.
Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, it serves as a gateway to scenic drives and outdoor recreation.
Asheville is also home to the famous Biltmore Estate and features a walkable downtown filled with galleries, street performers, music venues, and eclectic shops, giving the city a creative and laid-back vibe.
