Scotland Orkney & the Outer Hebrides Tour – Day One, Edinburgh to Inverness
The tour travels from Edinburgh to Scotland’s most northern, remote, and enchanting locations. This post shows the locations visited on the first day of the tour.

The first stop was the Helix Parkland where the Kelpies are located. The Kelpies are a pair of colossal horse head sculptures. They are inspired by the mythological water creatures known as “kelpies” in Scottish folklore, which were said to inhabit lochs and rivers and often appeared as horses.
The next stop was Loch (Lake) Lubnaig.

Stopped at a small city for a quick rest
Another stop to see the highest mountain top in the United Kingdom.
Stopped at Loch (Lake) Ness. This lake is famous due to the mystery of the Monster in Loch Ness. This lake is also the largest in terms of volume in the United Kingdom.

The next stop is the small village of Foyers, where a waterfall can be seen.

I gave up hiking because it was a long way to the waterfall.
Then Loch Ness. Panoramic view.
The man facing you is the person who has lived here and checking on Ness Monster for the last 30 years. He has not spotted the monster yet.
