Deoksugung, Deoksugung Doldam-gil, and JeongDong-gil, Seoul, South Korea
Deoksugung is a mid-sized palaced which kings use during the Joseon period, JeongDong-gil is a charming and quiet street just outside of Deoksugung, and Deoksugung Doldam-gil is the street next to the Deoksugung wall.

In front of Deoksugung is the Seoul city hall. The one in the front is the old city hall, and the rear future-looking building is the new city hall.

A history Museum in the palace, but is closed because Covid19.


The last Korean king (Gojong) used this road to escape to Russian legation from the Gyeongbok Palace (not Deoksugung Palace) because the Japanese troops surrounded his palace.

JeongDong-gil has some historical structures. Below is Seoul Anglican Cathedral, constructed in 1922. The first two photos are the side facilities of the main church.

Chungdong First Methodist Church is Korea’s first Protestant church, established in 1885. The church is hidden by the buses.
