I visited three villages in Lake District using the public bus starting from Keswick. The first village was Grasmere.
Grasmere is a picturesque village and renowned for its stunning natural beauty, romantic landscapes, and literary associations.

William Wordsworth (1770–1850) was one of the most influential and celebrated poets in English literature. He was a key figure in the Romantic movement and is often regarded as one of the “Lake Poets,” along with Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Robert Southey. Wordsworth’s poetry was known for its deep appreciation of nature, its introspective exploration of human emotions, and its innovative use of language and imagery.
Some of Wordsworth’s most famous poems include “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” (commonly known as “Daffodils”), “Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey,” “Ode: Intimations of Immortality,” and “The Prelude.” His contributions to literature and his dedication to depicting the beauty and significance of the natural world continue to be admired and celebrated to this day.
