Wandered among the royal tombs of Gyeongju where the former kings and queens now rest in peace

Daereungwon Tomb Complex: 9 Gyerim-ro, Hwangnam-dong, Gyeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea

Within Daereungwon Tomb Complex is Cheonmachong Tomb (Ancient Tomb No. 155), excavated in 1973.  Eleven thousand five hundred twenty-six artifacts were discovered within the tomb, including Cheonmado, an artwork considered highly valuable.  It is Korea’s first artwork to be excavated from an ancient tomb.

What has been found in this tomb is displayed here.  Many of the items shown here are duplicates, and the original ones are in the Gyeongju National Museum.
