Walked around Sokcho City, visiting popular tourist locations

Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market: 12, Jungang-ro 147beon-gil, Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea
Abai Village: 122-1, Cheongho-ro, Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea
Yeonggeumjeong: 35, Dongmyeonghang-gil, Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea
Chilsung Boatyard: 664-110, Gyo-dong, Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea

Walking to the traditional market from my stay.  This is the center of Sokcho city.

Arrived at the market.

A lot of merchandise is fish-related since this is a port town.

Walking out from the market and walking toward Abai village.

Across this port area is Abai village, and it is best to take this boat to get across.

The boat is all manual.  It is propelled by pulling a metal wire.

Arrived at the other side.  The boat is moving back to where I boarded.

Abai village is a tiny island which became popular by TV drama “Autumn in My Heart.”

Walk toward the beach.

A cruise terminal is here.

Walking back to the boat to get back to the other side.

On the next day, I took a taxi to Yeonggeumjeong.

Panoramic view of the area from left to right.

Looking at the right side.

Looking back, there is a tiny pavilion on top of the rock hill.

Walk down to a small port (Dongmyeong hang Port) area.

Walking to Sokcho Lighthouse Observatory nearby, passing an area where many snow crab restaurants are located.

After eating sashimi in the center, it is replaced by cooked snow crab, but I forgot to take a photo of it because too busy eating.

Arrived at the Sokcho Lighthouse Observatory.  The observatory is behind this scene, but I did not take a photo of it.

On top of the observatory, looking at the portion of the city.

Walked back down from the observatory …

then took a bus to the city center.

Walked to Chilsung Boatyard.  This place had been fixing boats for a long time, but now it is preserved for a historical reason.  People come here for the coffee shop nearby.
