Finally, I arrived at the Olympic National Park, the final destination for this Western States Coast Region trip.

Designated as a national park in 1938, Olympic National Park covers nearly one million acres and is renowned for its ecological diversity, encompassing alpine peaks, lush rainforests, rugged coastline, and pristine lakes.

This is Lake Quinault.

Lake Quinault is situated in the southwestern part of the Olympic National Forest, within Olympic National Park’s boundaries. The lake is surrounded by the Quinault Rainforest, one of the few temperate rainforests in the continental United States.

The lake is nestled amidst towering trees, including Sitka spruce, Douglas fir, and western red cedar. The surrounding forest has a diverse range of plant and animal species.

The best thing to do in the Olympic National Park is to go on hiking trails.  On the way to the Maple Glade Rain Forest Trail near the lake.

The Maple Glade Rain Forest Trail

The Maple Glade Rain Forest Trail was short and beautiful.  After this trail, I went to the  Quinault Rain Forest Trail which is also next to the lake.

This hiking trail was recommended by the Cabin Keeper of where I am staying.

Enough of this trail, and I turned back from the trail at this location.

Having some time left, I drove to Ruby Beach.  While on the way to the beach
