The High Line, New York, USA

The High Line is an elevated freight rail line transformed into a public park on Manhattan’s West Side.

Founded in 1999 by community residents, Friends of the High Line fought for the High Line’s preservation and transformation at a time when the historic structure was under the threat of demolition.

Arrived at one end of The High Line, where the Vessel is located.

The Vessel was opened with fanfare with its Instagrammable structure, but it had to close after fourth people jumped from it and died.

The day was cold and windy, so I entered the next shopping mall building.

Out from the mall, and walked to a stairway to The High Line, which was nearby the mall.

Got off from The High Line to see an art gallery.

This street has many art galleries on both sides.  The art gallery that I had planned to see was closed, so I missed it.

Get on to The High Line again

The area next to The High Line is Chelsea.

Looking back

That was the whole traverse of The High Line.  I got off it and walked to the nearby subway station to go back.
