I photographed the three distinguished-looking rock formations while traveling from Gallup, New Mexico, to Cortez, Colorado.

The Navajo Nation is a Native American reservation in the United States. It occupies portions of northeastern Arizona, northwestern New Mexico, and southeastern Utah; at roughly 17,544,500 acres (71,000 km2; 27,413 sq mi), the Navajo Nation is the largest land area held by a Native American tribe in the U.S., exceeding ten U.S. states.

Window Rock Tribal Park is established sometime around 1936, features the graceful red sandstone arch for which the capital is named Tségháhoodzání (Window Rock). It is located just a few feet north of the Navajo Nation Office of the President and Vice-President building, the Navajo Nation Council Chambers, and other administrative offices.

While the drive to Colorado from New Mexico, the Shiprock can be seen.

Shiprock is a monadnock rising nearly 1,583 feet (482.5 m) above the high-desert plain of the Navajo Nation in San Juan County, New Mexico.

Governed by the Navajo Nation, the formation is in the Four Corners region and plays a significant role in Navajo religion, myth, and tradition. It is located in the center of the area occupied by the Ancient Pueblo People, a prehistoric Native American culture of the Southwest United States often referred to as the Anasazi.
