On the way to Taos from Santa Fe, San Francisco de Asís Catholic Mission Church and Santuario de Chimayo, New Mexico, USA
I stopped at two notable churches on the way to Taos from Santa Fe.
On the way from Santa Fe to Taos, I stopped at Chimayo to visit Santuario de Chimayo. This shrine, a National Historic Landmark, is famous for the story of its founding and as a contemporary pilgrimage site. It is one of the most beautiful examples of Spanish Colonial architecture in New Mexico, and it is built in 1813.

Going to the sideyard
and to the back of the church
Came back to the sideyard
The back yard has sitting benches for outside worship.
The backyard
Sumptuous water flows at the stream in the backyard.
Walked back to the parking and found another church nearby.
Drove to Taos again, and very close to Taos, another notable church is San Francisco de Asis Catholic Mission Church. San Francisco de Asís Mission Church is a historic and architecturally significant building on the main plaza of Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico. Originally the center of a small Mexican and Indian 18th Century agricultural community. It was built between 1772 and 1816, replacing an earlier church in that location.
