Buseoksa Temple was built in 676, during the reign of King Munmu (661-681) of the Silla Kingdom (57 BC-AD 935). The temple was founded by Great Monk Uisang (625-702) upon orders from the king.

I bused to Buseoksa temple from Seonbichon village.

The map and description of the temple.

Looking back while walking to the gate.

The first gate

Next is a gatehouse

Which houses four gatekeepers like this one inside this gatehouse.  The photo shows only one gatekeeper.

The temple is located on the hillside, so keep climbing.

Go through the gatehouse

Looking back at the right side of the temple

Looking back at the left side

At the front is this largest building where the most prominent Buhdda is located, but I forgot to peek into it.

The back of the building is a mountain.

View of the left side

The right side has a pagoda on a little hill.

A sitting Buddha on the upper left side.  Not a lot of Buddhist decorations on the temple site.

Looking at the yard from the left side

The largest building.  All the doors are closed, which must be why I did not peek inside to see the Buddha.

Walking up to the pagoda on the right side

Panoramic view from left to right

Back down to the yard

Take couple more pictures

Walk to the far end where the paved automobile road is.  Photo taken from the far end side.

Walking down the temple using the paved road instead of going through the stairs again.

Pictures taken as I walk down.  View of the temple from the right side.

One last look
