Tombstone and Fairbank, Arizona, USA

Tombstone is known for its Wild West history.  On historic Allen Street, the O.K. Corral outdoor theater re-enacts an 1881 cowboy gunfight.  Fairbank is a “ghost town” with its life as a town began with the construction of a railroad in 1881.

On the way to Tombstone from Tucson, I stopped at the Fairbank Historic Town Site, where a couple of old houses standstill.

One last look before heading to Tombstone.

Allen Street, Tombstone.

The street is kept in the old style to give the feel of the wild west town.  Mostly the city is thriving because of tourists.

The foyer of the Bird Cage Theater.  To see inside the theater, one needs to pay the admission.  The photos taken inside the theater are not allowed to post online.

Inside the Kate’s Saloon.

These gunmen are trying to attract viewers to the reenactment of the O.K. Corral gunfight show.

Next to the show area is the actual place where the gunfight took place, using the mannequins showing the positions of each man.

The show stage.

The photo of the town back then.

Next to the show area is this mockup version of the old town.

Out to the street again.

The town library.

One last look.

A short drive away from the street is the Tombstone graveyard, which is also a historic site.
