Bà Nà Hills is a scenic mountain resort located in Da Nang, Vietnam, offering a blend of natural beauty and man-made attractions. It features the iconic Golden Bridge, a pedestrian walkway held by giant stone hands that has become a symbol of the area.

I used a shuttle system from Da Nang city center to Ba Na Hills Cable Station.

This area, called Sun World, is the ground-level section of Bà Nà Hills and serves as the ticketing center for visitors traveling to the mountain attractions.

The walk from the ticketing area to the cable car station was quite long.

Bà Nà Hills has a rich history that dates back to 1919 when it was established as a hill station by French colonists seeking a cool retreat from the tropical heat. Located in the Trường Sơn Mountains near Da Nang, the area was developed with villas, hotels, and recreational facilities, making it a popular destination for French expatriates and Vietnamese elites.

After the colonial period, the area fell into neglect until its redevelopment in the early 2000s. In 2009, Sun Group, a prominent Vietnamese real estate and tourism developer, transformed Bà Nà Hills into a modern resort and tourist attraction.

The development included the iconic Golden Bridge, a cable car system that holds multiple world records, the French Village with its European-inspired architecture, and Fantasy Park, an indoor amusement park.

It was also a long cable car ride to the upper part of the Ba Na Hills

The cable car station on the mountainside was located adjacent to the Mercure Danang French Village Bà Nà Hills.

This area is the heart of the French Village.

The Ba Na Hills resort includes a French Village with cobblestone streets, Gothic-style architecture, and quaint shops, providing a European ambiance.  This is the main attraction of the resort.

On the day of my visit, it was raining and heavily foggy, making it difficult to see the surroundings clearly or fully enjoy the experience.

There were not many people on the hill, and many stores remained empty without customers.

The Beer Plaza was one of the few areas with many people, offering beers and light meals for visitors to enjoy.

Beers are brewed on-site here.

Came back to the center of the French Villa

Adjacent to the French Village is Fantasy Park, an indoor amusement park featuring various rides and attractions.

I wanted to see the Golden Bridge but couldn’t due to time constraints. I had to leave the mountain by 3:00 PM to catch the shuttle back to Da Nang Center, which departed at 4:00 PM.
