Jioufen, New Taipei City, Taiwan
Jiufen is a renowned mountain town in New Taipei City, Taiwan. Known for its picturesque streets, traditional tea houses, and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, Jiufen is a popular tourist destination.

I took a bus from Taipei to here, which took about an hour and a half.
The town is on a mountain hillside.
On the lower right side of the picture (which is blocked by the people) below is the entrance to a long, narrow street with stores lined up on both sides.

Came back to the midpoint of this one narrow street again. Below is a picture that shows a side street that goes up the hill at this point, but I found that it leads to a dead-end.

And soon, I reached this tea house. This tea house is famous because it gave the idea of how the bathhouse should look in the popular animated movie, “Spirited Away.”
The inspiration for the movie’s setting, particularly the magical bathhouse, came from Miyazaki’s visit to Jiufen in Taiwan. The unique atmosphere, architecture, and ambiance of Jiufen influenced the creation of the mystical and enchanting world depicted in “Spirited Away.”
