Another Bruges Walk When the Sun Was Out, Belgium
With the sun finally out, I took another walk through Bruges, enjoying its beautiful canals, medieval buildings, squares, and charming streets. 1315

With the sun finally out, I decided to revisit many of the same places in Bruges that I had explored earlier. The route may look familiar, but this time the brighter weather and blue skies gave the canals, medieval buildings, and historic squares a much more colorful appearance.
I returned to Market Square (Markt), the historic heart of Bruges. Under the bright sunshine, the colorful buildings surrounding the square.
On Market Square, I again passed the impressive Provincial Palace (Provinciaal Hof). Its elaborate Neo-Gothic façade, with pointed arches, decorative stonework, and tall windows.
The Belfry of Bruges dominated Market Square with its impressive 83-meter medieval bell tower. Built and expanded over several centuries, the Belfry symbolized the city’s wealth, independence, and civic power. Against the bright blue sky, the tower looked especially magnificent.
From Market Square, I walked toward Burg Square (De Burg), passing through the beautiful historic center of Bruges.
At Burg Square, I again saw the magnificent Bruges City Hall (Stadhuis), one of the oldest Gothic town halls in the Low Countries. Built between 1376 and 1421, its richly decorated façade, tall Gothic windows, and statues reflect the wealth and importance of medieval Bruges.
On this walk, I decided to see Bruges from a different perspective by taking a boat ride along the canals, passing beneath old bridges and alongside the beautiful medieval buildings lining the waterways.
There are several different boat departure points throughout central Bruges, but the sightseeing boats generally follow the same canal route. I boarded at one of these stops and began my boat ride through the historic center.
At the end of the canal boat ride, I got off the boat and continued my walk through the historic streets of Bruges, enjoying the city.
After continuing my walk through the historic streets of Bruges, I eventually came back to where I had started, completing another enjoyable walk around the city.
