The German Village was built for Korean residents who returned from living in Germany. Many Koreans resided in Germany, where they earned foreign currency during the modernization of Korea in the 1960s. House N Garden is next to the German Village. It is a village adorned with gardens. 250

The Daraengi Village in Namhae is renowned for its terraced rice paddies situated on a steep hillside overlooking Seolheulsan Mountain. The picturesque rice paddies are great for taking photographs. 249
Yeosu Geumo-do Island, South Korea

Suncheon Naganeupseong, South Korea
Naganeupseong is a small Korean fortress village in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, South Korea. It has the old image of a Joseon folk village and fortress, with about 100 houses and government offices. 242
Hongdo Island in Sinan, South Korea
The only way to get to Hongdo Island in Korea is by taking a boat from the Mokpo Ferry Passenger Terminal. It takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes to get there by express boat. 237
Mokpo City, Yudalsan Nojeokbong, Yeonhee’s Supermarket, Mokpo Marine Cable Car, Yudalsan Sculpture Park in Mokpo, South Korea
I walked around Mokpo’s Old City, Yeonhee’s Supermarket, and Yudalsan Nojeokbong, and took Mokpo Marine Cable Car. I also explored Yudalsan Nojeokbong and the Sculpture Park. 234
Gwangju City, Jeonil Building 245, Chungjang-ro, Penguin Village, and Guitar Street, South Korea
Gwangju is where the 5.18 uprising happened. It was a pro-democratic movement in modern Korean history where the martial law Korean military killed 130 civilians. Jeonil Building 245 has evidence of a military helicopter shooting at the building. 228
Wanju O’s Gallery and Dubhe Cafe, South Korea
The beautiful O’s Gallery is set beside a reservoir, away from the busy city. The Dubhe Cafe is beautifully set among old Hanok houses in a mountain setting, not far from the gallery. 227
