Greek Island Cruise, Patmos Island, Greece
Patmos is a significant Christian pilgrimage site. Its Cave of the Apocalypse is where John of Patmos (St. John the Theologian) is said to have written the Book of Revelations.
Cave of Apocalypse: Patmos Municipality 855 00, Greece
A fortresslike, 11th-century monastery dedicated to the saint overlooks the whitewashed houses of the hilltop capital, Hora (also known as Chora).
Patmos is a small island with two things to see: one is the Cave of the Apocalypse, and the another is Saint John Monastery. They are both easily reachable by taxi from the port.
Behind these white buildings is the cave.
Inside the white building
Behind the door is the entrance to the cave
This is the entrance to the cave, which behind this door is the cave with a mid-sized room cave. Picture taking of the cave was not allowed, so no pictures of the cave.
Out from the cave
I took a taxi from the cave to the monastery.

A fair amount of uphill walking is required to reach the monastery.

Back to the front yard. Taking pictures of the inside of each chapel was not allowed, so there were no pictures of chapels. The chapels were decorated with many religious pictures and items.
