York Minster, officially known as the Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Saint Peter in York, is one of the most famous and prominent cathedrals in the United Kingdom.

The cathedral’s construction started in the 7th century, with various additions and renovations over the centuries. The current Gothic structure was largely built between the 13th and 15th centuries. Its architectural style is primarily Perpendicular Gothic.

York Minster is one of the largest cathedrals in Europe and features a central tower that reaches a height of around 235 feet (72 meters). The intricate stone carvings, stained glass windows, and intricate details of its design contribute to its grandeur.

York Minster is the seat of the Archbishop of York, the second-highest-ranking cleric in the Church of England after the Archbishop of Canterbury. It has been a center of religious life and worship for centuries.

This is the very front of the church.  A large portion of the front side was blocked due to a restoration.
