Soswaewon Garden is an excellent example of a garden from the Joseon Dynasty period. Korea Gasa Literature Collection has a collection of old song lyrics dated from 700 years ago. Sikyeongjeong Pavilion is one of the locations where the famous lyric writer stayed.

Gwangju is where the 5.18 uprising happened. It was a pro-democratic movement in modern Korean history where the martial law Korean military killed 130 civilians. Jeonil Building 245 has evidence of a military helicopter shooting at the building.

The beautiful O’s Gallery is set beside reservoir water away from the busy city. The Dubhe Cafe is equally set beautifully among old Hanok houses in a mountain not far away from the gallery.
