Dubai Madinat Jumeirah, Mall of the Emirates and Expo City Dubai, UAE
Madinat Jumeirah is a luxury resort, the Mall of the Emirates houses international department stores, and Expo City Dubai is a mini-city stemming from Expo 2020 Dubai’s legacy.

I went to Madinat Jumeirah to see the Burj Al Arab close by.
But I can only get closer to the hotel if I purchase an hour-long tour of it, which I’ve decided to skip.
Madinat Jumeirah Souk was nearby, so I walked toward it.
This area had many upscaled outdoor restaurants.
Turned around and looked back

Out from the souk and walked toward the metro station.
On another day, I stopped at the Mall of the Emirates to see the indoor ski area.
It was not as big as the Dubai Mall; it was more like a regular mall in the U.S.
This is the indoor ski area, but this was all I could see from outside.
On a separate day, I visited Expo City Dubai.
Expo City Dubai is a future-focused mini-city built on the legacy of Expo 2020 Dubai. The first World Expo to be held in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia regions, Expo 2020 Dubai welcomed 192 nations and more than 24 million visitors during its run.
Panoramic view
About four large pavilions are open to visitors, but most buildings are empty, and few people are visible.
This is one of the open pavillions. The theme was developments and technology.
This is another opened pavilion focused on the theme of Earth and sustainability.
A horse in the Vision Pavillion.
I hesitated to take pictures inside the pavillions because I was told pictures were prohibited. But the guide on this pavilion told me to take a picture of this horse.
