I rose early this day to catch a boat to Somaemuldo Island at 6:50 AM. The boat takes about one hour 30 minutes to reach the island, and it costs about $25 for the round trip. The island does not have any road for automobiles, so the boat is smaller than the ferry boat.
Arrived at the island.
The Somaemuldo island consists of two islands connected with a short path way made up of many large pebble stones. The pathway is usually submerged in water but shows up in the low tide for about five hours on certain days of the week.
The usual tourist attraction is the smaller island called “lighthouse island” because it has a white lighthouse. The boat lands us on the big island, and there are hiking path that goes more directly to the lighthouse island, but I decide to walk the big island first. These show the views from the big island hike.
Hiked up to the highest point on the big island. On the top, it has a government facility used to track boats on the sea, which is now used as a tiny museum.
The view of the “lighthouse island” from the top of the larger island. The lighthouse is my destination.
The opposite side view from the top.
Walking down from the top and toward the lighthouse.
Walked down to the ocean between the lighthouse island and the larger islands.
The path is still submerged in the water.
Waited another hour, the low tide showed the pebble stone bridge between the islands.
Reached the big island. Start to walk up to the lighthouse.
Looking back, more pebbles showed up.
I kept walking up toward the little lighthouse

Reached the lighthouse. Looking at the surrounding area.

It was time to walk back to the port
Across the pebble bridge, and started to climb the big island. Looking back at the ocean while climbing.
Looking back at the lighthouse island again.
Almost there to the port.
Back to the port village. The hike requires a lot of climbing, but the trail has many stairs, so it felt safer than the other island trails that I have been to.
