The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul is a contemporary art museum with the main museum in Gwacheon and the National Folk Museum is dedicated to the history of life and culture of the Korean people.
Incheon Songdo, South Korea
Built on 600 hectares (1,500 acres) of land reclaimed from the Yellow Sea off Incheon, about 35 miles from the South’s capital Seoul, the Songdo district is the largest private real estate development in history.
Hannam-dong, Namsan Tower, and Haebangchon in Seoul
Hannam-dong is one subway station away from Itaewon but is more relax, quiet and luxurious. Namsan Tower has the highest observation deck in Seoul. Haebangchon neighborhood still has the old Seoul street feel. Gyeongridan-gil has many fashionable coffee shop and restaurants.
Itaewon – Rodeo Street, International Food Street, and Usadan-10 Road, Seoul
Itaewon is known for its international dining and nightlife, with Korean BBQ restaurants, and upscale bistros, as well as low-key kebab shops. Casual beer bars and gay pubs sit alongside hip dance clubs. The streets are near the Itaewon subway station.
Myeong-dong Cathedral, Lotte Department Store, and Golbangyi Street in Seoul
Myeongdong Cathedral is the national cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Seoul. Lotte Department store in Myeongdong carries many name-brand clothes. Golbangyi Street serves moon shell-based food on the street.
Costco in Hanam, Seoul
Hanam Costco is as extensive as one in the US and seems to carry as many products. The first Costco that I went to was one in Yangpyeongu, but it was small and it did not have a food section.
Mongchontoseong Fortress, Seoul Hanseong Baekje Museum, and Seoul Olympic Museum of Art
Mongchontoseong Earthen Fortification is an ancient earthen rampart dating from the Baekje kingdom. Seoul Hanseong Baekje Museum displays artifacts found in Baekje kingdom. Seoul Olympic Museum of Art shows various art pieces.
Yangpyeong Dumulmeori, Semiwon Garden, and Waltz & Dr.Mahn Coffee Museum, South Korea
Yangpyeong Dumulmeori is about an hour and 30 minutes from Seoul by subway or by bus. It is where two rivers meet and form the Han River that flows in the middle of Seoul. Nearby is Semiwon garden, the garden of lotus. Waltz & Dr.Mahn Coffee Museum is a coffee shop next to the river.
Incheon Chinatown, South Korea
Incheon is about an hour and a half distance by subway from Seoul. Because Incheon is close to China, Chinese workers immigrated to Incheon in the late 19th century to find work in Korea. When Japan forced annexed Korea in the early 20th centruy, they also found Incheon a strategic area to establish their business because of the seaport and closeness to Seoul.
